The Algood Fire Department is a volunteer organization. There are over 20 citizens currenlty serving as volunteer firefighters, working in conjunction with the Putnam County Fire/EMT service to provide 24 hours a day and 7 days per week of Fire Suppresion coverage for the residents of the City of Algood. Fire Suppression is not the only function of this division, the firefighters are trained as First Responders, EMT's and Paramedics.
