Items too bulky for the receptacle will not be collected by the city. These items should be taken to one of Putnam County Landfill locations. Recyclable items should be taken to the recycling center located at 755 E. 21st Street in Cookeville. Open 7 days a week 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Phone: 528-3884.
  • On Holidays observed by the city (See Below), residents are notified by Herald-Citizen, WHUB AM Radio and WHUB TV Channel 7 of the modified schedule.
  • Algood Sanitation Workers ask that all receptacles are routinely cleaned and sanitized.
  • Residents will be notified by placement of stickers on receptacles if they do no adhere to regulations.

Commercial Waste Collection services are provided to businesses for a fee. The dumpsters may be purchased or rented for $40/month.  Algood offers flexible scheduling of pickup.
