Animal Calls
The city has ordinances requiring all pets inside the city are vaccinated and wear their tags.  Algood also has a leash law for all pets.  Any pets found loose within the city limits will be picked up by Public Works and taken to the Putnam County Animal Shelter.  The owner may be fined and/or cited to appear in Algood City Court.

Public Works will also assist with unwanted wild or dead animals inside the city limits.

Streets, Sidewalks, Drainage, and Signs

Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of all streets, sidewalks, and signs within the city limits.  They also will assist with drainage problems when they occur within the city limits.  Call the Public Works Director to report problems.

Mosquito Problems
The City of Algood provides assistance to city residents who may have potential mosquito problems.  We provide free of charge BTI Briquettes to treat swampy or marshy areas.  BTI is placed in standing water areas and will dissolve slowly over a 30-day period.  It is harmless to humans and wildlife.
Informational material and Briquettes are available from the Public Works Director.
